The Central Statistics Office of Ireland has today (June 21st 2017) released the results of the 2015-2016 Household Budget Survey. See the CSO press release here for details.
This is a great resource for anyone with an interest in the Irish market for consumer goods and services. The data supplied allows us to get an accurate picture of consumer spending at a very detailed level - this release has a very useful set of interactive tables here.
Paired with 2016 Census data we can get excellent market size estimates for individual products and services at local, regional and national levels.
Trends in growth can be identified by comparing results with previous waves of the Household Budget Survey - the last wave was in 2009-2010 (links to PDF summary).
If you would like any guidance or assistance in using these statistics please get in touch with email@example.com who will be happy to help.
Our next scheduled national omnibus survey takes place in the final week of June 2017. This is a very cost effective means of accessing a nationally representative sample of Irish consumers. If you would like to include a section on this survey please drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
